Cutting-edge technology
The patented technology HeiQ Viroblock enables textiles and KARMAN ACTIV’ PROTECT masks to destroy germs and viruses continually, safely and permanently.
✦ To create KARMAN ACTIV’ PROTECT®, KARMAN called on the HeiQ Viroblock textile technology developed by the Swiss start-up HeiQ, a company listed on the London Stock Exchange and a leader in textile innovation.
✦ This advanced textile technology destroys microbes, bacteria and viruses, thanks to an anti-microbial, anti-bacterial and anti-viral treatment applied to the mask fabric during the last step of production.
✦ The active ingredient of this treatment applied to the outer layer of the mask is a biocide made from recycled silver salts and cosmetic-quality liposome vesicle technology, which is used as a booster to rapidly destroy enveloped viruses, including coronaviruses.
✦ The technology inhibits the growth and persistence of micro-organisms and disrupts the behaviour of bacteria, microbes and germs on the surface of the fabric. The most recent tests, carried out by independent third-party virology institutes on HeiQ Viroblock NPJ03, demonstrate 99.99% effectiveness in 30 minutes against the COVID-19 virus, SARS-CoV-2.
✦ The residual viral infection, tested under a modified ISO 20743 method (Sendai virus) shows an anti-viral effect in 2 to 5 minutes. It has also tested under ISO 18184 as a strong anti-viral and ISO 20743 as a strong anti-bacterial against enveloped viruses and bacteria respectively.
